![]() Most of them have other reasons for existing than for prestige. I can't remember the example now, but the short of it is that these titles don't necessarily relate to land ownership. Some Titular Titles aren't even to do with land, but a thing or event. I believe he had more vassal cities under his control than you would usually expect of a count (4) He wasn't a Duke in the usual sense that he had vassal counts beneath him, he was just a very prestigious Count. ![]() I.E: I made the titular title "Duke of Gotland" and gave it to the Count of the island of Gotland.
